Accessibility

We at The Stoller Hall wish to provide everyone with the opportunity to enjoy all of our fantastic events. Our venue, situated in Chetham’s New Building, has been designed to ensure that all areas and activities are accessible to everyone, as much as possible. Most of the information you may need to plan your visit can be found on this page.  Should you have any further queries, please contact our Box Office and we will be happy to assist you in making your visit to The Stoller Hall a positive and memorable experience.

The Building

The Stoller Hall and the Carole Nash Hall are both situated in the New Building at Chetham’s, accessed via Hunt’s Bank where a ramp provides access to double doors. The Stoller Hall includes wheelchair spaces at both Stalls and Balcony levels, both of which are fully wheelchair accessible. Lifts are available to all floors, and accessible toilets are available on all public levels. In case of an emergency, there are disabled refuge areas by the stairwells on each floor.

Companion tickets

We allow those who require a companion to be given one free ticket to cover this. Once your ticket is booked, please fill out one of our Accessibility Forms outlining your needs and send it to us, along with a copy of one of the following documents:

  • Front page of DLA / PIP (no specific rate)
  • Front page of Attendance Allowance letter (no specific rate)
  • Evidence that registered severely sight impaired (blind)
  • Recognised Assistance Dog ID card
  • Credability’s Access Card

This will enable us to work out how best we can accommodate you and this note will be applied to all of your future orders. Once we have received your evidence, we will contact you to confirm that your companion ticket has been added to your order.

Should your needs change in the future, please do get in touch to discuss your changed requirements.  Your tickets can be collected at the Box Office or emailed to you to print at home or show on your mobile device on arrival.

Wheelchair spaces

If you require a wheelchair space, please contact the Box Office and staff will assist you with your booking.  The telephone booking fee for Access bookings will not exceed the online booking fee for other audience members.

For ambulant disabled guests, assistance will be provided upon arrival. If you have any concerns, please contact the Box Office.

Box Office
The Stoller Hall’s Box Office is located on the right just inside the main entrance.

Accessible seating
There are a number of spaces available for wheelchair users throughout the Hall. These are situated beside the aisle to ensure comfort and accessibility, as well as room for guide dogs if required.

Please note that the Stalls section of The Stoller Hall is on a gentle incline from the back to the front, although each wheelchair position is on a level surface. Gallery seating is only accessible via an internal staircase. Some seats in the Balcony are also accessed via one or more steps.

For events in the Carole Nash Hall, all seating is temporary. This enables complete flexibility around seating arrangements for wheelchair users. All seats are on a level surface.

If you require further guidance, please contact the Box Office.

Hearing loops

An infrared hearing loop is broadcast in the auditorium, with headsets available at the Box Office. Please try to make us aware of this requirement prior to the event through completing an Accessibility Form or by contacting us.

Accessible toilets
There are multiple accessible toilets in the building which are level-access and have wider doors. A selection of these toilets also contain baby-changing facilities.

Strobe lighting
While we are unlikely to have many shows featuring strobe lighting, there will always be warnings before and after such events. If you have any concerns, please contact the Box Office to confirm.
