Today marks exactly 11 months until the first public performance in The Stoller Hall, the start of an inspiring Opening Weekend 21 April 2017. In the Hall, the rake is in place for Stalls seating and the wooden boards are being laid on the stage. The first of the acoustic panels, designed to diffuse sound evenly around the space, have arrived on site ready for installation.
Behind the scenes, the Hall’s General Manager, Richard Hartwell, has now been with us for a little over one month. Working with School and site staff, he’s busy creating an artistic strategy for the Hall and finalising decisions on everything from seat numbering to sponsorship packages.
In this month’s update, Richard tells us a little about what to expect from the Hall. Artists and promoters are invited to speak to him at any time about using the space for performance or rehearsal from May 2017. Audiences may have to wait a little longer to find out who’ll be joining Sir Mark Elder in the opening season – but look out for the next update on 21 June!
