Honour brought together hundreds of singers from across the region to commemorate the outbreak of The Great War, and has provided an ongoing opportunity for singers through the 1914-1918 centenary period to explore the heritage of war stories, and to share that with a wider audience.
The Honour project developed beyond being a choir and includes spoken word pieces written for the choir by writer and poet Christopher Bowles. This breadth allows Honour to share a greater range of stories from the men and women of World War 1.
Honour Choir has performed at MediaCity, The Lowry, the Salford Somme 100 commemorations, Heritage Open days, The Whitworth Art Gallery and at their own In Remembrance events. In November 2018 they performed at the official commemoration events in Liverpool and Salford and the official unveiling of The Somme 100 war memorial in Heaton Park.
This final event is a chance for the choir to say one last farewell to all those that have shared their journey.
