The exile of Jewish composers during the 1930s slowed their productivity and often marginalised, or even extinguished, their careers. Music by three composers, whose lives were deeply affected by National Socialism, are featured in this concert.
This is a concert in a series of collaborations with the Royal Academy of Music and the Glenn Gould School of Canada’s Royal Conservatory. Students from both conservatoires are joined by members of the ARC Ensemble (Artists of the Royal Conservatory), which has spent the last decade restoring suppressed masterpieces to the repertoire and has made award-winning recordings for RCA and Chandos.
