Settle in and hold on tight, as we explore the music that makes us scared. ‘Scoring Fear’ marks the first collaboration between the Manchester Centre for Gothic Studies and the BBC Philharmonic. The concert will feature music by an eclectic mix of composers whose work invokes suspense, awe, terror, and even horror. Our programme includes pieces by Bernard Herrmann, Dmitri Shostakovich and Béla Bartók. This performance will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Sound of Cinema.
