‘Jazz is forever undergoing reinventions; this is one of the best in some time’ – The Times
Pianist and composer Fergus McCreadie is one of Scotland’s most exciting young talents! Rooted in Scottish folk, his music is an innovative blend of jazz and Scottish traditional music.
Bursting onto the scene in 2018, his self-released debut album, Turas won Album of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2019 and Best Album at the Scottish Jazz Awards 2019.
Turas (Scottish Gaelic for ‘Journey’) features eight original compositions which are designed to take the listener on an audio journey of Scotland. Depicting scenes from the Western Isles to the East Neuk of Fife, the music is evocative of the landscapes from which it has taken its inspiration.
Fergus and his trio, with their profoundly mesmerising and compelling music, look set to develop a global audience for their music, beginning their journey in Manchester.
In partnership with NQ Jazz and The Yard. Made possible by Arts Council England’s Supporting Grassroots Live Music fund.
Please note: Due to social distancing the number of available seats has been greatly reduced from the usual capacity, so you are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We’re really looking forward to welcoming you back. Your safety is our biggest priority and we’ve made some changes around the venue to keep you safe. Here’s what to expect from your visit.
