If you missed any of the concerts or would like to relive the music again, all of the concerts are available on BBC Sounds here.
BBC Radio 3 have chosen The Stoller Hall as one of the lead venues for their first ever Manchester Week, a week packed with live and pre-recorded concerts all captured in Manchester venues, including four concerts from The Stoller Hall.
Radio 3 Manchester Week gives a snapshot of the city’s vibrant music scene to national audiences, and features appearances from established and up-and-coming artists presenting well-known and experimental repertoire, all centred around the theme of Sounds of Nature.
The week kicks off with a special pre-recorded edition of BBC Radio 3 in Concert, presented by Tom McKinney, featuring Manchester Camerata and conductor Alexander Sitovetsky in an all-Mozart programme, including Piano Concerto No.9 with soloist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, recorded at The Stoller Hall. Other Manchester Week highlights include period ensemble the Consone Quartet, tenor Alessandro Fisher, and the incredible Mithras Trio, all performing lunchtime concerts live from The Stoller Hall, plus Stoller Hall regulars, the Northern Chamber Orchestra will broadcast their pre-recorded concert with their Artist in Association, Chloe Hanslip.
All of the lunchtime performances at The Stoller Hall are presented by Radio 3 New Generation Artists. This is a scheme that nurtures some of the world’s most promising new talent to develop their international careers, supported by BBC Radio 3 broadcasts.
