‘…Skilful and accurate… wistful soulfulness’ – John Fordham, (The Guardian)

Fini Bearman is a London based singer, songwriter and composer, and her music melds influences as diverse as jazz, folk and contemporary music into an arresting and uniquely personal sound. Sometimes dealing with settings of poetry and other pre-existing texts, other times with original lyrics or open, wordless evocations, this music is honest yet witty, mixing lush harmony and orchestration with contemporary grooves.

Fini’s fourth album, La Loba (released October 2020), has already received glowing praise, including 4*s and ‘Editors Choice’ from Jazzwise – “La Loba marks Bearman out as one of contemporary music’s most imaginative song stylists” (Peter Quinn)

We’ll be celebrating music from this record, as well as brand new material set to be released in 2022, Fini comes together with Tom Cawley (piano) & Corrie Dick (drums) to perform these songs in an exciting and intimate setting.

Spanning a wide range of musical textures and lyrical themes, ‘La Loba’ is infused with world-wide influences, from American folklore, to stories of young children in East Berlin. These are songs about womanhood and childhood; looking for love and finding it; femininity, courage and the life-long journey towards individuation. As well as drawing luscious and vivid imagery, this new collection of songs is a celebration of all the dimensions of life as well as a call to arms – challenging the listener to stand up and find their own voice.
