This performance is in Lancaster on Thursday 17 October
Book for The Stoller Hall performance on Friday 18 October

Chetham’s alumnus Paul Mann – former Assistant Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra, and noted for his musicality, versatility and breadth of repertoire – conducts the School’s flagship orchestra in Petrushka, Stravinsky’s ballet burlesque, animating the lives and loves of a puppet trio and the revelry of Mardi Gras.

Preceding the symphony will be Tchaikovsky’s only violin concerto, its lyrical, folk inspired solo part performed by 15 year old Yixuan Ren, a winner of Chetham’s 2019 Concerto Auditions; and Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphoses, begun as an arrangement for ballet and developed into a more complex and contrasting symphonic work.
