Announcing the 2025/26 Haworth Emerging Artists

Haworth Emerging Artists 2025-26

Five outstanding musicians to develop their careers at Stoller Hall and perform Rush Hour Concerts

Stoller Hall is proud to announce the 2025/26 cohort of the Haworth Emerging Artists Scheme, welcoming exciting early-career musicians and ensembles who will embark on a year of creative development, mentorship, performance, and community engagement.

This year’s selected artists are:

  • Rory A. Green – A guitarist and composer drawing on northern jazz traditions and personal storytelling to create reflective, improvisation-rich soundscapes.
  • Eleanor Dunsdon and Gregor Black (Eleanor Gregor Duo) – A multi-award-winning Glasgow-based harp and percussion duo blending traditional music with jazz, folk, classical, and electronic influences.
  • Sagnick Mukherjee – A cosmopolitan violist whose music bridges the old and the new, drawing on a global palette of sounds from Hindustani and Western classical to Bengali and Scottish folk.
  • Dominic Mattos – A versatile countertenor exploring baroque gems and American cabaret, celebrated for his dynamic stage presence and wide-ranging repertoire.

Now in its third year, the Haworth Emerging Artists Scheme supports talented artists at the threshold of their professional careers, offering performance opportunities, professional development sessions, and chances to engage with students at Chetham’s School of Music. The scheme is generously supported by the Haworth Trust.

Each artist will perform in the upcoming Rush Hour Concert Series at Stoller Hall – an audience-favourite featuring early evening performances in an acoustically stunning venue. Tickets are £5 and each hour-long performance starts at 6pm.

“We are thrilled to welcome these five extraordinary artists to the 2025/26 Haworth Emerging Artists Scheme. This programme, now in its third year, is designed to nurture and promote artistic identity whilst equipping musicians with the skills and confidence to forge sustainable careers in today’s musical landscape. Sarah Godlee, Chair of the Haworth Trust, said:

“The Haworth Trust is delighted to be supporting the Emerging Artists Scheme again this year. Our aim is to help young musicians & artists who are working to establish their careers, and this scheme offers a wonderful framework of support, both practical & creative.  We very much look forward to seeing how this year’s cohort develop over the coming months.”

The selected artists expressed their enthusiasm about joining the scheme:

Eleanor Dunsdon and Gregor Black said:

“We are thrilled to have been chosen to be part of the scheme. It is a fantastic opportunity to ask a lot of the burning questions we have about taking the next steps as musicians. Manchester and Stoller Hall are wonderfully supportive of folk and traditional music, and we cannot wait to learn more about their audiences. Having both come from classical music backgrounds, we are also excited to engage with Chetham’s students and pass on some of our knowledge.”

Rory A. Green said:

“I feel like I am at a transition point in my career where I can afford to focus more on my writing and developing my sound. The Haworth Emerging Artists Scheme will help me to expand my knowledge and skillset to create high quality work and ensure longevity in my career. I hope to learn more about funding opportunities, promoting my own shows, marketing and branding, and creating ways to find and connect with my audience.”

Sagnick Mukherjee said:

“This scheme is a fantastic opportunity to further develop my artistic practice within Manchester’s vibrant musical community. I am excited to be part of the 2025/26 cohort and to perform at Stoller Hall. Its team has a wealth of experience on subjects ranging from artistic programming to audience building – essential skills for musicians today and that will be invaluable for my future career.”

The Haworth Emerging Artists Scheme is part of Stoller Hall’s commitment to supporting diverse musical voices and nurturing the next generation of performing artists.
