We are delighted to offer a new series of online workshops for KS2 starting Monday 19th January until Monday 2nd February. Workshops take place 1.30 – 2.15pm via Zoom. Last year we worked with 6,000 children from across England through these workshops which link curriculum and music making in weekly, interactive whole class sessions.
Our workshops are designed to support schools’ delivery of the National Curriculum for KS2 Music and the National Plan for Music Education.
Workshops are designed to be as interactive as possible, and include opportunities for:
Our theme for these workshops is: TOGETHER
Mon 12th Jan : Fighting for Freedom
Join us to explore this topic through music; from the songs that were used to unite people, to songs that remind people of home, to protest songs and the ongoing fight for freedom.
Mon 19th Jan : World Religion Day
Highlighting the harmonious principles that unite us, music from different nationalities, cultures and religions.
Mon 26th Jan : Around Britain Burns Night!
From Lands End to John O’Groats, the UK country has a real assortment of traditional songs, celebrations and traditions. Come and share the fun!
Mon 2nd Feb : Love Brings Us Together
There are many celebrations of equality in February. Join us to celebrate love in all its forms, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion or wealth.
There will be no requirement to attend all 4 sessions, though we would love to see you at all of them! Each one will use the theme to focus on a specific music making skill.

Expected number of children taking part in workshops
Workshops are delivered via Zoom. The workshops can be delivered in your classroom, so no hall/workshop space required, and previous musical experience/instruments are not required. However, the session is interactive and children will engage with our musicians through quizzes, listening and music making activities. It will be necessary for teachers to be present throughout and accessing the chat function.
