“A drummer to watch out for” – Rhythm Drummer Magazine

Jamie Murray’s latest project ‘Evolution’ brings together four of the world’s foremost creative musicians working in the field of groove-based jazz. One of the great upcoming drummers on the scene today, Jamie is forward thinking and conceptual player with an exceptional groove and an open-minded approach to free experimentation. His current projects “Beat Replacement” and “JZ Replacement” have enabled Jamie to perform across the world in the Jazz/Crossover scene, performing with some of the most innovative and forward-thinking musicians of today.

This supergroup features one of the great living saxophonists, US virtuoso Dave Binney, whose career boasts a formidably extensive discography and touring accolades, including  the Gil Evans & Maria Schneider Orchestras, Chris Potter, Donny McCaslin, Brian Blade, Mark Giuliana, Bill Frisell, Cecil McBee, Knower, Aretha Franklin and Maceo Parker, to barely begin to scratch the surface… Known for his fearless risk-taking and uncategorisable approach to genre, he is the perfect match to Jamie’s own genre-bending music.

This concert is supported by Arts Council England’s Supporting Grassroots Live Music Fund and Forsyths Pianos.

Can’t make the gig? No worries, we’ve got you! Tune in via live stream from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you are in the world!
