‘He demonstrates a genuine poetic instinct, artistic stature, and musical receptivity, that is conspicuously rare among young pianists who have such technical gifts’ – Benjamin Martin

Yidong Lin is a young pianist from Canton, China, and currently a PhD student in Musicology at the University of Manchester. He won the first prize of individual music all-round award from the Ministry of Education of China in 2018 and graduated with First Class honours from the University of Melbourne in 2021 to further his development as a wonderful musician. He has participated in nearly 150 concerts, and this is his seventh solo concert.

The theme of the concert is Japanese anime music, including classic anime from the past 20 years, such as One Piece, Evangelion, The Flower we Saw That Day, Your Name, and Hayao Miyazaki animations from Studio Ghibli. The concert will be equipped with a projection screen, allowing the audience to relive these classic animations while enjoying the music.
