The first chamber concert of 2022 promises to be a good one, with baritone Marcus Farnsworth performing alongside pianist Martin Roscoe.

Marcus was awarded first prize in the 2009 Wigmore Hall International Song Competition and the Song Prize at the 2011 Kathleen Ferrier Competition. A strong supporter of contemporary composers, he has sung works by John Tavener, Sally Beamish, Thomas Larcher, Peter Maxwell Davies and David Sawer.

Martin Roscoe is an English classical pianist. During his illustrious career, Martin has become one of the UK’s most loved and respected pianists. With his extensive repertoire, consummate musicianship and immediate connection with audiences, he is in great demand as a concerto soloist, chamber musician and recitalist. Martin is also the Artistic Director of The Manchester Chamber Concerts Society.

Marcus and Martin will perform Schubert’s Winter Journey, a cycle of 24 songs for voice and piano based on poems by Wilhelm Müller.

Following the performance there will be a live Q&A with Marcus and Martin.
