Join the electrifying young voices of National Youth Choir (15-18 Years) and trailblazing Manchester-based conductor Ellie Slorach for an afternoon concert exploring the forces of nature that govern our relationship with our planet.
These brilliant teenage singers will bring the power of the elements alive through moving music, vivid soundscapes and thrilling body percussion in what is sure to be a truly atmospheric performance. Katerina Gimon’s epic 4-part piece ‘Elements’ runs through the centre of the concert, interspersed with music including Eric Whitacre’s dramatic ‘Learnardo Dreams of his Flying Machine’, Frank Ticheli’s heartfelt ‘Earth Song’ and Morten Lauridsen’s passionate ‘Fire Songs’. Come and join us to celebrate the precarious beauty of our vulnerable planet, and warm your spirit in hope of a better world.
National Youth Choir brings the finest young singers from across the UK together to take part in life-changing musical experiences. Whether you’re a die-hard choral music fan or you’ve never been to a choir concert before, we know you’ll enjoy seeing the enthusiasm, talent and joy of our young singers shine through in this performance.
