‘The chemistry between these four young players is tangible and magical’ — The Scotsman

‘I honestly don’t think it had occurred to anyone that a solo theorbo concerto would be possible’ – BBC Music Magazine

Named after the leading Italian luthier and Stradivari expert Simone Sacconi, Sacconi Quartet have developed new ways of presenting the quartet repertoire, as well as championing new music.

The award-winning Quartet is recognised for its unanimous and compelling ensemble music, consistently communicating with a fresh and imaginative approach. Formed in 2001, the Quartet continues to demonstrate a shared passion for string quartet repertoire, infectiously reaching out to audiences with their energy and enthusiasm.

Featuring incredible string quartets from British composer’s including Purcell’s King Arthur, the celestial soundscapes of Alberga’s Quartet No.2 and Beethoven’s last string quartet, No.16, the Sacconi Quartet will perform alongside lutenist Matthew Wadsworth, for a performance not to be missed.
