This concert focuses on friendship and all the emotions that surround them.
Elgar’s Enigma Variations describe ‘the friends pictured within’, brought to musical life through foibles, fancies and frolics. Before it we’ll hear Dorothy Howell’s Lamia, itself the description of an ill-fated love.
