Part of our Sounds of Nature programme
Making Tracks is an environmentally-focused international music exchange programme, based around an annual UK residency and tour. The programme brings together musicians from the UK and around the world to showcase diverse music, initiate new collaborations and explore strategies for music-based environmental engagement.
Re-launched in 2019 and now based around an annual residency and tour, the project is based around the idea that musical encounters have the power to reach across social, cultural and geographical divides, and foster a deeper appreciation of musical and cultural diversity. Making Tracks also believes that musicians are in a unique position to inspire reverence and engagement with the natural world among the wider public. As part of its environmental focus, Making Tracks is introducing a new annual nature theme. The inaugural theme for 2022 is ‘Birds’.
