BOOK NOW – Live Stream from The Yard

Featuring: Norma Winstone – Voice / Stan Sulzmann- Saxophones / Nikki Iles – Piano / Dave Green – Bass

Three UK jazz legends unite for this special tribute to the undoubted master of the modern jazz piano trio, Bill Evans.

Evans was one of the most iconic ground-breaking pianists of the last century who pushed the boundaries of jazz piano playing to new levels. His intimate sound, combined with his advanced harmonic and rhythmic capabilities are still influencing musicians today.

Norma Winstone is one of the greatest British jazz singers, a pioneer of the approach to wordless vocals in jazz. Alongside a remarkably talented band (Stan Sulzmann – Saxophones, Nikki Iles – Piano, Dave Green – Bass), Winstone pays tribute to the music of pianist and composer Bill Evans, who — beginning in the mid-to-late-fifties — made an immense impact upon contemporary jazz.

This promises to be a special event live jazz event in the company of true jazz greats, with personal memories and anecdotes as well as Evans’s music, now a firm part of the jazz canon.

In partnership with NQ Jazz and The Yard. Made possible by Arts Council England’s Supporting Grassroots Live Music fund.

Please note: We’re really looking forward to welcoming you back. Your safety is our biggest priority and we’ve made some changes around the venue to keep you safe. Here’s what to expect from your visit.
