Opera North: Cinderella
Carole Nash HallReturning to Manchester for 2024 - the much-loved fairy tale, but not quite as you know it… Join us for...
This concert celebrates the life and music of Alan Davis. He left an incredible legacy of compositions, arrangements, transcriptions and recordings. He also inspired an entire generation of exciting and innovative recorder players and dynamic musicians.
We begin our musical offering in the beautiful medieval surroundings of Baronial Hall, performing historical works Alan loved and cherished. We move together from the Medieval Building into the New Age of Chetham’s, for the second half of the concert featuring several of Davis’ own works and culminating in a performance of the wonderfully fantastical Alice in Wonderland Suite, held in the Carole Nash Hall.
We’re delighted to be joined by several of Alan’s former students, some of whom will also perform in the concert, including Emily Baines, Ruth Dyson, Richard MacKenzie, Anya Eyres, and Helen Tawn.
