This event is part of Manchester Medieval Quarter Festival 2023.

Perfect for children aged 7-9 years, our beginner recorder sessions will introduce budding young musicians to the foundations of learning the recorder. These 30-minute small group sessions will be led by Chetham’s staff and students, and children will learn how to make a beautiful, musical sound – the perfect introduction to this well-loved medieval instrument.

Older children aged 9-11 can also be booked onto our sessions for older children (this will be run at the same time.)

No experience necessary and tickets also include a new recorder, courtesy of The Early Music Shop.

Children should be accompanied by one parent or responsible adult during the session.

Tickets: £5 (including new recorder)
