We may be in week 10 of lockdown, but our passion for incredible live music continues off stage.
Whilst we’ve been working at home we’ve been looking for new ideas to keeping the music alive and how we can say thank you for all the amazing work that’s happening across our home city of Manchester and all over the world.
The idea behind the video came from our Venue Administrator Aoife McHugh; ‘I have missed being able to watch the amazing music-making in The Stoller Hall and creating music as part of a group. I wondered if there was a way we could show our appreciation for the key workers through some kind of music and the idea of Steve Reich’s Clapping Music popped into my head as a fairly obvious choice.
It was lovely to come together and work with colleagues in a different way to produce this video showing our appreciation for key workers.’
So many of us miss live music and we can’t wait until the day it returns. But for now, we’ve put together a video to show our appreciation to all key workers – Thank you!
The Covid-19 restrictions are devastating to The Stoller Hall. We rely almost exclusively on income from ticket sales and venue hire. That income has abruptly ended, impacting our community and our team. Help us keep the music alive by donating what you can.
