With Kantos Chamber Choir and Ellie Slorach
Come and sing the festive choruses of Handel’s Messiah side by side with members of Manchester professional chamber choir, Kantos, and their artistic director, Ellie Slorach.
The day is perfect for adult (18+) amateur singers who want to enjoy an afternoon of music making in the beautiful surroundings of The Stoller Hall. Featuring an organist and soloists from Kantos, the day will culminate in a free informal performance for friends and family at 4.30pm.

• Do participants need to be in a choir right now to take part?
No – whether you’re in a choir or not, you’ll be able to come and along and take part.
• Will participants need to be able to read music, and to what standard?
Yes, you’ll will need to be able to read music, at least for your own voice type, but you don’t need to be good at sight-reading.
• Do participants need to have sung Messiah before?
Definitely not! Whether or not you have performed none, any or all of Messiah in the past, you’ll be able to
• Which choruses will participants be learning/performing?
Choruses will include but not be limited to: And the Glory of the Lord, For Unto us a Child is Born, Hallelujah Chorus, He Trusted in God.
We have limited copies of the score to borrow (with no charge) or Forsyth’s Music has a special 20% discount available for this event. You can buy a discounted score here. To borrow a score, please select this option during the booking process. If you have your own score available, you are welcome to bring this along (any edition is fine!)
