Inspired by epic adventure stories from 1,001 Arabian Nights, Scheherazade tells the story of a young woman captured by a fiendish King. She uses her wits to cheat death, distracting the King by telling him captivating stories that last 1,001 nights.
Performed by young musicians from Chetham’s School of Music, this concert will introduce children to instruments of the orchestra through classical music.
Inspired by some of the greatest stories ever told, including Aladin, Sinbad, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Sheherazade was written by composer, Rimsky Kosakov, and will be conducted by Ellie Slorach and presented by Chetham’s Artistic Director, Tom Redmond.
