Image Soweto Kinch - The Stoller Hall

Featuring: Soweto Kinch – Saxophones & MC / Nick Jurd – Bass / Jason Brown – Drums

Live jazz makes a triumphant entrance to Manchester in 2021, with one of the most exciting and versatile musicians in both the British jazz and hip-hop scenes – Soweto Kinch.

Saxophonist, composer, poet, MC and producer Soweto Kinch is undoubtedly one of the few artists in either genre with a degree in Modern History from Oxford University. He has amassed an impressive list of accolades and awards on both sides of the Atlantic — including a Mercury Music Prize nomination, two UMA Awards, and multiple MOBO awards.

As an honorary associate of the Royal Academy of Music, a previous tutor at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and a wealth of experience as a performer, Kinch will no doubt provide an exciting start to the live jazz programme.

Soweto Kinch website

In partnership with NQ Jazz and The Yard. Made possible by Arts Council England’s Supporting Grassroots Live Music fund and the Haworth Charitable Trust.

Please note: When attending in-person events please allow at least 30 minutes prior to the start time to be seated in a safe and socially distanced way ready for the performance.
