Take a tour of The Stoller Hall with award-winning Blue Badge guide Jonathan Schofield, and a chance to meet the team involved in its design and construction.
Visit The Stoller Hall’s stunning auditorium – nominated for a regional RIBA prize – and its backstage areas, to discover how the very latest in acoustic design is combined in this unique new space with facilities for audiences and performers, flexibility for differently sized ensembles, and the challenge of running a public concert hall within a busy school. You’ll be introduced to the space by Jonathan Schofield, editor of Manchester Books Limited. Developed with input from the team involved in the design and build of the Hall, these unique tours will take visitors into spaces undiscovered by concert audiences – from the substage, with its temperature controlled piano store and moving platform, to the artists’ dressing rooms, taking in a glimpse of life in the UK’s largest specialist music school.
This special Opening Weekend tour will end in the magnificent Oglesby Atrium, where visitors will be introduced to members of the project team who created the Hall and have a chance to ask questions about the inspiration and challenges involved in bringing it to life.
