We look forward to welcoming harpists of all abilities, in any genre, or those that simply love this beautiful and versatile instrument, to the Manchester Harp Festival 2024.
There will be mesmerising guest performances, fascinating masterclasses and workshops, and you’ll experience demonstrations and performances of Harp-E. These super sleek electro-acoustic instruments won the Red Dot Design Award and are played by classical and experimental musicians on the world’s biggest stages.

This festival day ticket does not include the festival’s Opening Recital on Friday 20 January, featuring performances from Louise Thomson, Anne-Marie O’Farrell, Marie Leenhardt and Esther Swift, or access to the Saturday night headline performance by Anneleen Lenaerts. These performances can be booked separately, or you can purchase a full festival ticket to get access to everything.
Entrants to Manchester Harp competition will receive free entry to the workshops and performances (excluding Friday and Saturday night headliners.)

From 9am – Live finals of the Manchester Harp Competition
10-11am – Huw Boucher: Meet the Artist Open Forum
10-11am – Marie Leenhardt: Alexander Technique Workshop
During this workshop, we will observe the transformative effects of redirecting our main focus from playing well to being well, applying the principles of the Alexander Technique.
This session welcomes musicians (harpist and others) and anyone curious to experiment other ways of being.
Please feel free to bring your instrument along.
11am – RNCM Showcase
11.30am -12.30pm – Rachel Dent: ABRSM Masterclass
1.30-3.30pm – Esther Swift: Ensembles workshop with culmination performance at 4pm
2.30 – 3.30pm -Harp•E Demonstration
2pm – Huw Boucher: Performance
Harp•E and Salvi’s of London stalls and servicing open in the atrium throughout the day.
