Discover the Magic Behind Rebecca Caine’s Solo Tour ‘Dividing Day’

Singer Rebecca Caine performing

This November, join opera sensation and actress Rebecca Caine for her solo tour Dividing Day at the Carole Nash Hall. Skyrocketed to success for her acclaimed performances in Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera, Caine’s captivating vocals will take you on an intimate journey of self-discovery with help from writers including Bernstein, Bucchino, Guettel, La Chiusa, Sondheim, Weill and Yeston.

Ahead of her show on 29 November, we had a chance to chat with Rebecca to discover the inspiration behind this groundbreaking show and how it all came to be.

Can you tell us a bit more about yourself and your career as a musician?

I’m a singer, nearly a musician! I’ve been lucky enough to have a long and varied career from West End shows like Oklahoma, Phantom of the Opera to creating the role of Cosette at the premiere in 1985 of Les Misérables and opera sing around the world. I also do plays, cabaret and concerts.

What inspired you to plan this solo tour?

It was my wonderful friend Nathan’s idea after seeing me in an amazing role I did at the South Bank, Conor Mitchell’s Abomination. Nathan decided to put a bomb under me, make a really interesting set that reflects very much the experience of being an experienced nuanced older woman.

How do you go about choosing the music for a concert like this?

You’d have to ask Nath but I love it all.

What do you hope audiences will take away from the show?

I hope they see some of themselves it and I’d love to know!

See the show for yourself on Friday 29 November 8pm in the Carole Nash Hall.
