Christmas is right around the corner, and at the Stoller Hall we have a wealth of upcoming performances in December to get you into the festive spirit.
Kick off the season with festive folk supergroup A Winter Union (5 December). Get ready for an enchanting evening filled with brand new songs, fresh takes on traditional carols, and seasonal favourites from both sides of the Atlantic.
On 6 December we welcome classical crossover singer Karl Loxley and his renditions of timeless Christmas classics to bring in the festive season, with unforgettable performances of favourites such as ‘White Christmas’ and ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.’
For a family friendly treat, join us for Revolting Rhymes (7 December), performed by the talented musicians from Chetham’s School of Music. This playful evening features the heartwarming tale of Mr Bear’s Christmas, captivating performances of The Four Seasons by Vivaldi, and a hilarious retelling of Little Red Riding Hood from Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes.
In the evening on 7 December, Kantos Chamber Choir will take you on a wintry musical journey with their own unique spin on Christmas carols. Let their beautiful harmonies guide you alongside the three wise men, through snowy woods, and even into a traditional wassailing celebration! They will also be performing the winning work from the 2024 Kantos Carol Competition.
We’re also delighted to welcome legendary folk-rock pioneers Lindisfarne (13 December), featuring a stellar five-piece line-up of long-time members led by founding member Rod Clements on vocals, mandolin, fiddle, and slide guitar.
Down for the Count Orchestra invite you to swing into Christmas with their annual festive extravaganza on 15 December. Join this sensational 30-piece orchestra as they bring to life holiday classics from jazz and swing legends like Nat ‘King’ Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and more—capturing the iconic sound of the Capitol Studios recordings.
Join Mystery Ensemble (19 December) for a spellbinding evening filled with masterpieces by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Let the enchanting melodies from ‘The Nutcracker’, ‘Swan Lake’, and ‘Sleeping Beauty’ fill the air on this cozy winter night, creating an unforgettable festive experience.
To make the countdown to Christmas even more magical, see the well-loved classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ (20 December) come to life on the stage – with the lead role played by the great-great grandson of Charles Dickens! Don’t miss this unique chance to experience a captivating performance that bridges generations and brings Dickens’ timeless tale to life like never before.
