The Stoller Hall Christmas Auction


We want to say a massive thank you to all of the traders from our markets who donated items and everyone who placed a bid, we raised an amazing £370 towards our Gift of Music Campaign that will ensure children who wouldn’t normally get the chance to experience live music can have the opportunity.

To celebrate the festive season and to help raise funds our Gift of Music fundraising campaign, we hosted an online auction!

There was something for everyone in this year’s auction, all generously donated by local Traders who showcased their makes at our Artisan Markets on Sunday 11th December 2022. From a private tour of Chetham’s Library, jewellery, prints, homeware and even something for that special furry pet in your life!

Please note that all bids were updated within 24 hours of receipt. If you have successfully bid on an item, they can be collected or posted at an extra cost and gift vouchers for experiences will be posted once the auction has closed on Monday 12 December 2022 at 5pm.

Lot 1. A Piece of Natural Honeycomb

This pure honey comes straight from our own beehives, right here in Manchester. Honeycomb is a delicious treat: pure honey in its most natural state. The whole comb can be eaten, the beeswax has a lovely bite, and is lightly chewy.

Lot 2.  A Ceramic Leaf Platter

This handmade ceramic leaf dish is ideal for serving snacks & nibbles, or as a jewellery holder. Beautifully crafted, this dish makes a lovely addition to any home. This functional piece is made with British stoneware clay allowing it to be food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

Lot 3. A Snuggle Sack and Treat Snuffle Ball

This lot is for all of the dog lovers that can’t get enough of their little guys. The Deluxe Snuggle Sack is lined with incredibly soft Sherpa fleece, perfect for cold winter evenings. Lot 5. A Beach Themed Matching Necklace Set 

These ocean themed necklaces were created using two layers of resin. The first layer imitates the effect of waves crashing on a beach and was made using blue, gold and white coloured resin. The second layer is a clear layer of shiny resin which has an embedded charm, one anchor, and one ship’s wheel.  When the necklaces are placed side by side they form a heart in the middle!

The necklaces themselves are made from blue silky cord and have a silver extender chain attached to allow for adjustable length.

Lot 9. A large Goober and The Forest of Mushroom Delights Print

Join all the Goobers as they celebrate the mushroom delights in this one of a kind lino print. You will find Goobers and woodland animals feasting on the delicious mushrooms that grow in Manchester forests. Look a little closer and see that the Goobers are feeding these delicious treats to bunnies, mice, ducks and snails as they grow in abundance. The print also features a border full of local mushrooms that will intrigue and excite mycologists and nature lovers alike.

Lot 12. A Black and White Fox Print

‘The Sightseer’ (giclée print of the original drawing by Tracey Waddington).

Tracey is interested in British wildlife and the roles animals play within our society and environment. Foxes and corvids have a special relationship with people and appear in many stories and poetry. Each often an underdog, Tracey’s portrayal of each animal seeks to highlight the wild, characterful intelligence both have in abundance.

A beautiful handmade Jesmonite soap dish and toothbrush holder bathroom set. These are lovingly handmade in Manchester using eco-friendly Jesmonite. Jesmonite is safe, solvent free, low VOC and heat proof. This set has been hand sanded and sealed with coconut oil.

Lot 15. The Stoller Hall – Access All Areas Tour

Join our Deputy General Manager for a behind the scenes tour of the Stoller Hall. You’ll learn about the construction of our fantastic concert hall and be able to have a look around areas that are not open to the public, such as under the stage to see the machinery that drives our impressive stage extension, and above the stage where our lighting, speaker and banner hoists are located. You will also have a guided tour around the architecturally stunning building that houses the Stoller Hall. There is a maximum of 10 people for this event.

Celebrate the festive season in style with the vocalists and instrumentalists of Down for the Count Concert Orchestra, as they Swing Into Christmas!

This is a Christmas celebration like no other, as Down for the Count recreate the music of Nat ‘King’ Cole, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and many more in a luscious 25-piece orchestral setting evoking the sounds of the great Capitol Studios recordings.

Lizzie Finlay is an award-winning illustrator and author based in Manchester and has kindly donated this amazing bundle including a signed copy of The Ferocious Chocolate Wolf , a framed illustration of Ferocious (or the chocolate Wolf, some chocolate wolf lollipops and some chocolate pigs made by Cocoa Loco.
