We only see true beauty as it slips away.

An evening with Manchester’s professional chamber choir, Kantos.

The natural world can be majestic, awe-inspiring, incomprehensible, and ever more frequently, terrifying. As our climate changes and we recognise the immensity of what is at stake, art can be a call to arms, a catalyst that riles us up, spurs us on, and guides us to the eye of the storm.

While the earth grows tired, the music and soundscapes in this programme immerse the audience in a tale of nature’s beauty, of its hideous destruction, and ultimately, of defiance in the face of it all.
