After a hugely successful first year, we’re excited to announce that the Manchester Guitar Festival will return in 2023.

The second Manchester Guitar Festival will take place on 19-21 May 2023 with three days packed full of concerts, workshops and masterclasses with some of the finest guitar stars.

This weekend ticket allows you to gain access to all events on Sunday 21 May, excluding headliners.

What’s On for Sunday

Stuart McCallum: Pedals Masterclass
G4 Room, 11am

A workshop for electric guitarists who want to explore effects pedals and how they can be used creatively to create new and exciting sounds.

Places will be first-come first-served for this event.

Alexandra Whittingham: Performance
Carol Nash Hall, 12pm

Jim Faulkner: Jazz Masterclass
G4 Room, 2pm-3pm

Following his performance on Saturday 20 May, jazz guitarist Jim Faulkner leads an introduction to jazz and improvisation through learning the blues. Learn some of the most common chord shapes used in jazz guitar and how you can use these in your own playing. Jim will take you through some common jazz chord progressions and introduce you to some of the accompanying rhythms found in jazz and Bossa Nova.

Places will be first-come first-served for this event.

Richard Durrant: Music for Midsummer
The Stoller Hall, 3pm

A concert of Bach on ukulele, Durrant guitar originals and choice moments from the acoustic/classical repertoire. Richard performs this wonderful music each summer, travelling by bicycle to venues the length of the British Isles.
