‘I made this album as a way to handle the loss of some close friends. Their memories guided me throughout and hopefully they live through the music. Strange to realize, it wasn’t them who were lost, it was me’ – Cass McCombs

‘Cass McCombs achieves the perfect middle ground between otherworldliness and sturdy, rhythmic song writing’ – Paste Magazine

Cass McCombs is a transient storyteller interested in words, music and dreams.

Balancing emotional richness, awareness, and wry demeanor in his lyrics, Cass McCombs negotiates styles including Americana, Baroque pop, psychedelia, and sprawling jam band folk-rock, among others, in his music. He made his label debut in 2002 with the EP Not the Way. A series of unpredictable records followed, including 2008’s Dropping the Writ — his Domino Records debut — and his first album for Anti-, 2016’s Mangy Love. The forthcoming new record, entitled Heartmind, continues to expand McCombs’ legacy of sharp observational lyricism and intricate instrumentation, making for a gracefully infectious listen.

With support from Kolumbo.
