‘Perkins is a compelling advocate of the instrument’ – International Record Review
Based in Manchester, U.K., Laurence Perkins is one of Britain’s leading bassoonists. As a soloist, principal orchestral player and as a tutor, he is a tireless champion of an instrument which to this day is less well-known and appreciated than it deserves to be.
With an extensive catalogue of solo recordings, a vast number of solo recital and concerto performances, and numerous education projects (national and international) Laurence is continuing his work promoting the bassoon with new recordings, imaginative concert programmes and innovative projects.
Join Laurence Perkins (bassoon) and Alex Berry (piano) for a performance of ‘Summertime’, Summer music by Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Paul Reade and Robin Walker.
Please note: Due to social distancing the number of available seats has been greatly reduced from the usual capacity, so you are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We’re really looking forward to welcoming you back. Your safety is our biggest priority and we’ve made some changes around the venue to keep you safe. Here’s what to expect from your visit.
